Wednesday, May 27, 2015 - Enticing purple in the glass with a a clear rim. Nose of grass, black and red berries with hints of earthy spice, vanilla and cinnamon. Tart and sweet in the mouth with plenty of tannins and oak flavors with a finish that is savory (cloves) and tart (plums). A bit warm on the finish and over-structured as far as the alcohol is concerned. Definitely need to decant for a few hours. I did not decant but the wine tasted a lot better on the third day than it did on the first.
