Tuesday, July 14, 2015 - as much a QPR from France as there ever was. When you buy a sub-$15USbote if off-dry Chenin Blanc from Vouvray, you hope for, but don't expect they quality that you see from Domaine Huet or Boumard. However it's quite surprising how many wines from this area as well as the bulk of Blanc wines from the LoireValkey both Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc, that put quality wine into off-dry Blanc wines that can compete with anybody globally. Fresh fruits, minerals and acidity that do well laid down in q cellar for a couple of years and no deterioration and actually some fruit/acid/mineral integration happens. Really such a crowd pleading wine on Bastille day. Orchard fruits both Apple and pear with a touch of green melon with rind. A treat under $20US.
