Friday, February 28, 2014 - Upon opening the bottle the oak was quite overbearing. It made me wonder why I had purchased this wine from the wine tasting. As time progressed the oak subsided to a large extent, which probably explains it. The wine tasted at the winery probably had been open for a few hours and gave it time to release the undesirables. Pinot should not have oak that stands out in my book. There can be hints of the influence, but one should have trouble finding clear indications on the nose or palate.
