Tuesday, April 12, 2005 - Deep maroon, with slight amber at the rim. Wow, this has a wonderfully fragrant, classic nose of roses, dried leaves, and spices, followed up by a dense, multi-layered palate of chocolate, tar, leather, and black cherries. Medium body, lively but well-balanced acid, with a long finish that turned just a touch astringent at the very end. A little on the young side, but approachable now.
