2012 Cayuse Syrah Cailloux Vineyard

Community Tasting Note

flawed

Saturday, May 23, 2015 - Retested from previous bottle. This had been tapped by Coravin on several occasions over the last two months. The funk had taken over big time on both the nose and palate. Clearly not on par with my previous tasting note. Not rated this time.

5/24/2015 10:27:00 PM - Please see my previous note. This was the second glass from a bottle that was opened via Coravin 6weeks ago. There was a little of the expected Cayuse funk then, loved it , rated it 96, but something happened in the interval. My first real Coravin failure. I do have several bottles and did want to taste it young. I have had several bottles of previous vintages so I am familiar with the wine. You may still be correct in asserting this may have been an off bottle but the funkiness did explode unexpectedly in this bottle accessed only by good Coravin technique.
