Wednesday, December 24, 2014 - Paired against a 2008 Cade Howell Mountain. Two tasters preferred the Cade, two the Altamura, but we all agreed both were excellent.

This wine was more restrained than the Cade. While the Cade has strong fruit flavors, the Altamura is more subtle. A serious, complex wine. Red berries, a hint of oak, and some earthiness round out this wine. Drinking well now, but should have 10-15 years ahead of it.
