Saturday, January 24, 2015 - This was a sturdy companion for some goat cheese Brie and a dinner of gnocchi done in a rustic style with Brussels sprouts. Beautiful nose, a bit less effusive than many Viognier, in a good way. More focused nose with peachy fruit, wet stone, and, on the palate, medium oily body and lively if slightly tart. With an hour it developed a creamy caramel base note. Probably hit this too young but it was sound.
