Friday, January 16, 2015 - Decanted for 2.5 hrs before returning to bottle for dinner. Upon initial whiffs the nose was beautiful with notes of forest floor, wild mushrooms, and black cherry. Sampled a little .5oz upon opening and was blown away by the layers and a finish that seemed to last close to a minute. Before rebottling (about 2 hrs later) the fruit was jumping from the glass. Not a speck of heat was present. As the earthy dishes we selected were paired with the wine the fruit purity really shined. I'm going to try and hold another bottle for at least 5 yrs but I doubt I will succeed.
