Saturday, September 3, 2016 - Decanted for 1 hour. This needed more time, closed down a bit but slowly awakened. Aromas of maple, raspberry, forest floor and rhubarb. On the palate, surprised how Burgundian this is with flavors of cherry, mushroom, clove, blueberry and herb. Lingers of the palate like crazy. Every sip the wine evolved. Finish close to 50 seconds. Never had the 09 but expected more forward fruit but this was wonderfully balanced and elegant.
