Sunday, February 16, 2014 - I've tasted seventeen vintages of this wine to count, so I know it well. This 2012 version shows much of the remarkably consistent flavor Ted imparts on this his largest bottling, with some 2012 twists of for instance showing an abundance of dry tannin early, not abating much after a 3 hour decant. It does show juicy black raspberry and strawberry fruit though, with increasing purity upon aeration. Oak treatment is significant, but structured in a way that should integrate well. Should be in the window by holidays 2014. This is a benchmark standard of Sonoma Zinfandel year in and out.
