Sunday, January 10, 2016 - Decanted for two hours; no sediment. Clear dark ruby red. Nose of black berries, some spice and a hint of alcohol. Medium to light bodied dark fruit on the palate, but with considerable heat. Tannins are quite prominent on the finish. Overall, the structure would benefit from more acids. Maybe this will improve with time, but the low acid problem probably won't change. At $16, I've certainly had better wines.
