Tuesday, January 4, 2011 - Decanted a full 6 hours with once per hour mixing and aeration. Deep garnet color. Beautiful, refined nose of extremely pure black currants and blackberry, plus floral notes, minerals and some graphite. Over 2-3 hours of drinking some leather and barnyard notes were added to the nose. Silky on the medium to full bodied palate where tons of deep, dark fruit carried through with nice earth notes. Wonderfully balanced and pure with a finish that coats the palate and lingers for about 40 seconds. Very well done. Drinking beautifully now with a long decant, but this baby will last another decade at least. Well done!
