Monday, May 28, 2018 - My, my. Have had the honor of enjoying Penfolds, but, seldom the Grange. This wine is stellar and ready to rumble. Moderate rim variation. Dark, dark ruby garnet color in the glass. No flaws. Mild to moderate sediment. Stunning nose. At a loss for words. Very earthy and dirty for sure. Very old world. Dark florals and fruits on the nose and in the mouth. Low tannin. Low acid. Long finish. Medium alcohol. This wine in my humble opinion is at peak, and, so, so ready to drink. Paired perfectly with grilled filet mignon.
