95 Points

Thursday, October 9, 2014 - Unlike previous reviewers, this bottle is not faded at all and is around its peak. Dark purple still with no browning at the edges, the nose sings with intense plum and cassis fruit and fresh citrus blossom, not aged leather or something that would be more expected from a 15 year old wine. This bottle still tastes fresh, with bright cherry, raspberry fruit and cassis and wild berry ascents, the mid-pallete then takes the fruit to a higher level as the finish glides to a silky texture and lingers for almost a minute when oak spicy notes emerge along with some mineral/crushed rocks. The tannins are so well integrated that the creamy feel in the mouth is a total pleasure, one of the best reserves in a while. Drink now or over the next 5-10 years.
This wine was purchased from the winery in 2004, stored under temp controlled environment since 2011, basements before that; tasting note taken after about 4 hours of air in decanter.
