Monday, September 22, 2014 - At the United Lounge at O'Hare. Ruby black to the rim almost saturated. Cassis plum lots of vanilla and a touch of smoke on the nose. Medium weight a bit on the light side but maybe expected given the vintage slightly green tannins. Ripe but slightly herbaceous with flavored of cassis plum touch cherry vanilla and espress. A little too smoky for me and the weight of the wine doesn't support it. Would be better with a grilled rib eye.
