92 Points

Thursday, April 7, 2011 - Deep ruby with light mahogany edge. Nose of sweet red cherries, raspberries and earth. Above shoulder fill, cork looked new with 1/2 inch saturated. Filtered through paper, which produced pinpoints of tannin and a tiny slurry of fine paste. This is a mature and elegant wine with smooth integrated cherries, raspberries and blueberries no longer assertive, but still prominent. Also showing tobacco, green herbs, and a flinty earth with subdued tannins. This is a lovely wine having traded its brash fruit with competing flavors for an elegant, mature whole.
