92 Points

Friday, December 12, 2003 - Tasted unblinded at Vintage Wines, Ltd. Bottle taken from my personal cellar. Bright disc. Deep garnet robe with brick rim. Clean nose, opening over 90 minutes to show moderately intense aromas of kirsch, damp earth, tar, licorice and dust. Full-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity and ample sweet tannins. The flavors mirror the nose. Long, smooth finish. My notes on this wine have remained very consistent. It should continue to drink well for several more years.
