Sunday, October 16, 2005 - Clear, bright ermine-tinged ruby, with hint of bricking at rim. Rich, meaty, leathery nose, with powerful cassis, sandalwood and tobacco leaf, and a hint of something fungal. Soon developed a smokey, dusty, mineral character (nicer than it sounds!). Mouthfilling and juicy, with sweet black fruits balanced by a nice cranberry tartness and a lead pencil backbone. Hint of caramel. Long, lingering, sensual finish. Very exuberant; very fine.
