Sunday, December 27, 2015 - As with the '11, this is intensely aromatic and quite an interesting wine. Ruby to crimson in color, going rosy towards the edges with a clear meniscus. The floral notes of rose, hibiscus, lavender, and potpourri jump out of the glass, along with dried clove and fresh sage and oregano. Knockout nose for sure. On the palate it's light to medium body, with medium(+) acidity and finish, and flavors of high toned red fruits, cherry cough drop, red licorice, bitter orange peel, and iodine. Not for everyone, but I find it super interesting and enjoyable.
