Thursday, September 25, 2014 - Allowed to breathe for thirty minutes prior to tasting, and developed further over an hour-long meal. A complex Chateauneuf-du-Pape that can be enjoyed in 2014, and mature until at least 2025. Appeared garnet in color and transparent, with a medium number of slowly descending legs. On the nose it was vibrant and inviting, with black current, strawberry, and a touch of blackberry. The palate began with redcurrant and strawberry, but it evolved into earth tobacco, blackberry, and black currant. The tannins were present with grip with a lingering finish to this medium bodied wine.
