92 Points

Wednesday, September 7, 2011 - Appearance: Clear, medium (-) intensity tawny colour with yellowish brown rims and legs
Nose: Clean, medium (+) intensity and fully developed aromas of rose, prune, oak, smoke, orange peel, raisin, ginger
Palate: Sweet with medium acidity and fortified medium alcohol. Full body, with medium (+) intensity flavors of prune, raisin, plum, smoke, nut, cedar, cinnamon, orange peel and rose petals. Medium (+) length.
Conclusion: Good quality Rutherglen Muscat with intense nose and palate, showing complex characters in different dimensions. The sweetness is balanced by the acidity making the wine not cloying and enjoyable even by itself. A good length making this wine a perfect dessert wine for the day. Ready to drink now and can be maintained for another 10-15 years.
