92 Points

Thursday, July 6, 2006 - im going to take a wild guess and try to peg this at 92-94pts even though it is very hard to say exactly when it will mature and what it will be like when evolved. this is a tannic monster that is about as closed as closed can get. this needs so much aeration its hard to believe. but there are signs that it could be immense one day. no wonder the pros' ratings were so controversial. when first opened it was no better than an 89, if that, then things started to happen days later. open the bottle, leave it out for a week, then try it. or age it for 15-20 years and pop the cork. not unlike other excellent vintages of GL, but still somewhat of a mystery right now.
