Tuesday, September 1, 2020 - very good but not sublime. currant, some funk, anise/black licorice on the nose. raspberry, some tart cherry, hint of anise on the moughtful. very strong tannins; pretty certain they wont relax enough for the fruit to stay bright and virbant. this is better with food - grilled medium rare lamb chops and duck fat rosemary potatoes for me did the trick. softened the tannins and enhanced some of the flavors and made the wine more smooth. 89/90 without food and 91/92 with food; so 90 it is!
