Friday, January 1, 2021 - Decanted about 2 hours and consumed over the following 2 hours. Virtually opaque black-red in the glass. The nose was beautiful from the start and didn't seem to develop with time. There were aromas of tar, red clay, ripe fruit, and some smoke. On the palate the wine was very rich and full, some what rustic in a way that I always associate with this vineyard, with great fruit and enough acidity to pull it all together. I was surprised that this tasted pretty classic in light of the vintage. I didn't notice any of the raisiny, over-ripe flavors or aromas that I usually find in Bordeaux from this vintage.
