Saturday, May 27, 2023 - Purchased as part of a potentially over-the-hill mystery case from The Wine Society, and luckily very much 'still got it' rather than 'past it'. Deepish yellow, like it needed to hydrate itself better. Creamy and vaguely floral on the nose, with green, leafy, earthy vegetation and the undertone of something mysterious and herbal. Waxy and full-bodied on the palate, though also precise and energetic, the flavour profile being slightly exotic (but also showing notes of peach, wet stone and sassafrass) and the finish long and bittersweet. Rather too unusual to drink every week, but certainly feel as though I got my money's worth.
