Wednesday, February 14, 2024 - deep dark ruby with no bricking and medium-plus body. somewhat reticent nose of red cherry, garrigue, black olives, bay leaf and hints of lavender. more generous in the mouth, but still somewhat restrained with a mellow entry of dark fruit over black tea; it opens in the midpalate with fresh raspberry, some meaty notes of game, and a savoury balsamic streak accented by herbs. white pepper leads into the moderately long finish.

seemingly mature, but with life ahead still… a delightful, nuanced CdP.

14% stated AbV; 80% Grenache/ 10% Mourvèdre/ 10% Syrah; all varietals are co-fermented; some Grenache vines go back to 1901.
