Sunday, July 26, 2015 - Excellent Rhone red blend from the Perrin Family (of Beaucastel fame). Decanted for an hour or so and it still opened up more as the evening went on. On the nose there was lots of perfume at the start which blew off fairly quickly being replaced by notes of blackberry and blueberry. On initial taste the syrah really jumps out with layers of ripe dark berries, a bit of earthiness, a little pepper a hint of smoke and cedar, small fine grained tannins and medium acidity.
