Sunday, January 24, 2010 - nose: much different from the Guadalupe. Has a more piney quality to it with some tones of tree sap, dark red cherries, spices, berries and a touch of roses. Good depth with a darker expression to it
taste: Well balanced and nuanced medium feel of berries, roses, dark cherries, spice and some damp earth tones. doesn't really express itself on the palate the way that the guadalupe did. The tones are a bit muted and aren't that expressive
overall: An extremely good pinot, but this one just didn't really sing. Its very balanced and comes off as mature and at a plateau. It maybe didn't get enough air to fully get going, but it was still a quality wine that was very enjoyable
