Friday, June 2, 2017 - Opened and poured. Much sweeter than previous renditions, which is quite nice and what I'm looking for. Honeyed elements on a steely frame. However, the wine is weighed down by too much ABV and heavy cloying phenols. Lacking acidity to keep it vibrant and balanced. Would love to see Mike dial this back while keeping, or increasing the sweetness, and delivering this at 11-12% ABV....then he'd really have something. Overall a good wine.
