Saturday, December 15, 2018 - Rhys Alpine is one of a short list of my favorite California Chardonnays. It’s tensile and almost austere for California. After a while it relaxes and a bit of peach apricot fruit sprinkled with minerals emerges. Nicely mouth watering and not too shrill. With more complexity it could be stellar.
