Saturday, April 20, 2024 - My first time with this wine. High shoulder fill. Cork was mostly soaked through. Surprisingly dark in color. Closed on the nose for 10min then it really got going. Dark fruit, tobacco, coffee. Some sweeter red fruit came out with time. What I loved was the balance and symmetry. Incredibly round and silky. Regal and majestic are definitely appropriate descriptors. And this was so youthful yet with details and flavors that only time can produce. We drank this way too fast…90min out of a decanter. Hope to try it again and give it a few more hours.
