Sunday, September 9, 2007 - Drank to celebrate the birth of my son. I realized, as I was drinking this, that I was tasting greatness. This is a singularly amazing wine...a full medium red, incredible complexity on the nose, particularly after about 45 minutes in the decanter when the cedar came out...graphite, cedar, tobacco and currants on the nose...incredible complexity and seamless tannins and fruit on the palate...syrupy...so intense...just amazing. Sadly, no more bottles in the cellar. It almost makes me want to have another child so I'll have an excuse to find another one...what keeps this from 100? I have a preference for fruit over tobacco...but really, we're picking nits...this is in the stratosphere.
