Sunday, May 23, 2021 - Tasted blind, this wine had a purple red center with tan rims. It looked shockingly young. The nose started off at a medium- intensity and developed to medium+ intensity over the course of 8 hours in a decanter. It showed tan soil, minerals, plums, blackberries, walnuts, and some tobacco.
In the mouth, this wine was super ripe and rich with noteworthy rounded tannin, fine-grained acidity, and incredible length.
As usual, this wine was mind bending. It is so great now and yet it is clear it will improve with 10-20 more years and last decades beyond that. A block buster and candidate for perfection.
