Monday, April 20, 2015 - An intriguing Merlot-based blend, but needs time for tannins to integrate and subside. Decanted for an hour. Dark red, with nose of chocolate and cherry. Powerful tastes of dark fruits (e.g., blackberry, blueberry), with strong secondary notes of graphite, cocoa, and dust. 14.7% alcohol. Promising fruit, but a lot is hiding behind the wall of tannin. Give it time: based on drinking plenty of Firebelles over the years, I think this will surely improve.
