Friday, November 15, 2013 - Drank this wine tonight at PeraMakan to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday.

Lots of wood, cassis, cigar, toast, and liquorice. This wine is somewhat closed and not much flavours or depth could be extracted from it.

Decanted it for an hour or so but it did not help much. Wine still remains unimpressive. Considering that this wine came from one of the more prominent wine makers (Balnaves of Coonawarra) in Australia, received an "Outstanding" rank in Langton's Classification V and is recommended as an "Perfectly aged Cabernet from Australia," I have every right to be disappointed in this wine.
