95 Points

Sunday, September 9, 2012 - 03 Bordeaux (Pavie, Poyferre, Troplong) (Out to dinner): Splash decanted for about 30 minutes. This is also much younger than I had been led to believe. Perhaps it never shut down, but it is a baby and need 5 to 10 to approach maturity IMO. A nose of cassis, leather, some dust and the slightest celery note. Full bodied. Tight, but unwinds a bit in the glass. Firm tannins. Lots of juicy fruit on the palate. Blueberry, cassis, a streak of graphite. Balanced with a long finish. Should improve by a point or three, I am holding for now.
