Sunday, December 28, 2014 - Decanting this for about 5-hours was required to unlock it, and even then there were tannic grippy teeth on this. Hold remaining bottles, this is an 03 that will go some distance.

Nose: Started with a slightly pruney note, but that blew off after a few hours revealing Black Cherry, Ripe Strawberry and Currant notes that were layered with nice oak tobacco and mint notes. Palate: Enters with deep dark red fruits, earth, berry and graphite. The mid palate shows an inkling of how plush this may become over the years. Finish: There is a modest assault of chewy tannin here, but the overriding note is dark blackberry, smoke and sweet oak.
