Saturday, June 8, 2019 - I haven't had this wine since 2015, so it was great to revisit it over 4 years later to see how it had evolved. This is drinking in a really good place right now. While it certainly can go for another 10+ years, why wait? This is built in a more new world style of right bank wine with plenty of fruit concentration, noticeable herbaceous from the Cab. Franc, and a very long smooth finish. The nose needed some coaxing from the glass, but it got better after 1 hour in the decanter. While more new world in style, I did not detect any over-ripeness that one might expect from the 2003 vintage. This is now in its drinking window and is lovely, especially when paired with a good piece of meat.
