Tuesday, April 21, 2015 - Terrific nose of black cherry cola fruit, cassis, and dust, more of the same on the palate, this bottle much richer tasting than the last bottle a month ago, big, intense, fruity taste on the mid palate with lots of dark fruit like cherry cola, easy to sip and enjoy while eating dinner, big body, and a long, flavorful fruity finish and aftertaste.

I have had about 12 bottles this year and unfortunately 3-4 of them did not live up to my expectations. I wonder if Caymus is outgrowing itself and producing too much? What do you think?

5/6/2015 10:13:00 PM - Wine tasting of the same wine over time is looking viewing waves in the ocean. Mood, food, expectation, and storage are big, influential factors when tasting the same wine. Many at Cellartracker read the previous tasting notes and rate based heavily influenced by what they read. This wine is intense fruit and therefore fruit forward at first but bottles now are showing hints of bouquet and development on the palate. if 9 of 12 met your expectations than you have done well. Remember the Baron of Mouton said there are only great bottles not great vintages. Your perception is the correct and only reality that matters. After all wine is like woman, cigars and song-an artistic, subjective subject.
