Saturday, February 9, 2019 - This was one of four 2012 cabernets for the evening. The others were: Neal Family Napa Valley; Round Pond Napa; A. Rafanelli Sonoma Dry Creek Valley. I know I am bucking the trend, but this Caymus simply did not please my palate. It was too sweet, too oaked, too very nearly port. I'm glad I got to try it, but I don't need any more - it just isn't my flavor preference.

Because you might be wondering... The Rafanelli was the standout for me. It was beautifully balanced, represented the varietal very authentically, had a gorgeous long finish. The Neal was a close second. I felt like the Round pond was not even in the same class. Nonetheless, it was a great night with great friends!
