Wednesday, December 13, 2023 - good mid-neck level and long cork, decanted 2+ hours, still quite youthful, almost opaque black-red colour, no real brown even at the rim, remarkable for age, fine, elegant, rich cassis sweet-fruit nose, inland St Julien fruit richness, very good for the vintage, palate of medium weight but with rich fruit depth and concentration, some hints of hardness / underripe character of the less than stellar vintage but overall really very good, the scores have been creeping up which suggests it is still not at its apogee in keeping with the still youthful colour, more in the cellar so this is welcome, purchase price en primeur was very reasonable so top QPR
