Wednesday, July 10, 2019 - This is of course one of the most famous conventional NZ Sauvignon Blancs.
What I don't like at all is the razor sharp acidity. I comes from a fact that the ML has been partially blocked. It's not integrated at all even after 6 years and I think it will never be.
Wasted potential, what a shame. There is a clear sign the wine has been tempered with in the cellar (including fining, filtering, etc.). Could be much much better if made less-interventionist.
Overall: A bit overpriced. I would not buy again.
Nose (taken from web):
Initial scents of white florals and fresh herbs are supported by those of sweet stone fruits and honeysuckle, and completed by a flinty intriguig minerality
Palate (taken from web):
Juicy, with mouthwatering notes of nectarine, kaffir lime and lemongrass. A round and creamy mouthfeel complimented by a gentle minerality, while the nervy acidity contributes to a youthful and vibrant finish
