Wednesday, December 9, 2015 - How far will sheer deliciousness get you? Pretty far in my case. Decanted 1 hr. ahead and sampled over the next hour. Medium garnet with rusty touches. Nice nose of earth, rosemary, cherries, bramble (sometimes known as white pepper). Medium-light bodied on the palate, very ingratiating, as cherry flavors lead over hints of tobacco. Acid balance is toward deliciousness, as the wine is not tart but certainly not soft; well-balanced for its weight. Finishes quickly. This wine has a high component of sheer drinkability; what more do you want in a CA Barbera? At this moment I can't remember.
