Wednesday, April 9, 2014 - Local Food & Spanish Wine Pairing (Top Wines): Appearance is clear, deep intensity, purple colour.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of licorice and minty leafiness.
On the palate, medium acidity, high tannins, full body, medium finish. Little or no oak influence. Flavours of licorice, spice, fruit-forward blackcurrant and blackberries.
Quite a generic tasting young wine without much character. Meant for drinking young and with food.
And seriously, the winemaker Yolanda said she drinks this in summer with ice and a pinch of sugar added.
