Friday, December 12, 2014 - From double mag. Lovely translucent ruby, no real signs of age. Wonderful nose (93-94) of classic Pichon Lalande perfumed fruit. So distinct, spicy (touch of clove?) and earthy notes as well as the classic cherry/cassis, cedar and leather. Medium bodied but what a good drink it is, tannins all intergrated but still plenty of life and fruit in it wih acidity present and giving it a wonderful freshness and uplift. Why pay outrageous burgundy prices when drinking old Bordeaux gives you so many similiar pleasures but at a fraction of the cost!
