Community Tasting Note

Saturday, December 23, 2006 - Worryingly low level (mid shoulder), cork wet through and crumbly at top. Initial smell slightly oloroso-like. Decanted 3 hours in advance. Mid garnet to brick red/brown. Quite a bretty, farmyardy nose initially. Then more port-like. framyardy aromas seem to have blown off in the glass. Nice weight and acidity. Good, slightly sweet fruit, not unlike a southern Rhone grenache. Lovely stuff. Ready now but absolutely no hurry. Complex, long, quite subtle and beguiling. A good Musar. Will drink the remaining bottles over the next decade.
