93 Points

Thursday, June 19, 2014 - Popped and poured, followed approximately 1 hour. Translucent garnet, with moderate brick. On the nose, dried cherry, earth, undergrowth, florals, black tea, iodine, leather, spice, orange peel, a bit of volatile acidity poking through. On the palate, medium acidity, with mild gripping tannin on the long finish, accentuated with tastes of cherry preserves, beeswax, spice, blood orange and leather. Lovely wine, and true to the Musar character. Perhaps a bit more volatile than I would like. Based on this bottle, drink now.
