Saturday, April 4, 2015 - arrived today. uniquely hazy character...not sure if this was due to shopping. wine was good but lacking that extraordinary secondary flavors of the best wines from this producer. texture was ok but wine lacked a bit size and precense to more than solid. overall good wine but not great wine

4/5/2015 4:14:00 AM - JB, Musar is a uniquely volatile wine because of the way it is made. When I buy old Musar, which I frequently do (old = 1993-1975 I would never contemplate opening a bottle until it has rested for at least 3 months after arrival. I seriously recommend you treat the rest of your bottles accordingly. The other thing is you need to stand the bottle for 2-3 days before opening in order to let the particulates to fall to the bottom and for the wine to clarify. Then decant for at least 3 hours....I personally go for a 3-hour decant then back into the cleaned bottle for another 6-8 hours before serving. Hope this helps, and enjoy! Mike
