Saturday, December 9, 2017 - Brian + Sylvia, Wedding Dinner (Leeuwin Estate): Modern, rather international styled, but pleasant nonetheless. The nose had rich wafts of sweet blueberries, licorice spice and eucalyptus notes. The palate showed a nice polished balanced, with plenty of bright acidity and soft, velvety tannins swathed around bright, pure flavours of ripe blueberries, peppery spice and just a bit of florals on the finish. It lacked a bit of character, and some in the table did not quite like the overtly modern stylings, but I thought this was pretty well-made and quite enjoyable for a glass or two.
