Tuesday, May 19, 2015 - This is SO interesting. John Duval made Penfolds Grange what it is today, having made it for a few decades. He also makes a Washington wine for Long Shadows that I'm way fond of. But this has it's own identity, feeling a bit more like a California Syrah (as opposed to a Barrossa style Shiraz, which it is). Lots of nice fruit, the red kind. At 11 years old it's still got spring in it's step. Not "over the top" - but solid.
